Julie Morris, PT
Julie Morris, PT has over 19 years experience as a Physical Therapist. A life-changing injury as a teenager led her into this career path. She grew up in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and went to college in Boston, Massachusetts. She was tired of the cold and snow; therefore she has made Tucson her home for her entire professional career thus far. The mountains surrounding Tucson call to her spirit.
Though Julie has a strong orthopedic and biomechanic educational background, she has always combined this 3-dimentional knowledge of the body’s joints with her own unique touch to the tissues, which includes respecting the body’s natural energetic system. When she took John F. Barnes, PT’s Myofascial Release I course in 2009 she told a friend, “What I’ve been feeling all these years already has a name!” She has been able to include Myofascial Release into a traditional physical therapy setting where she had worked along side other MFR-trained practitioners, and has taken more continuing education courses from John F. Barnes, PT. A client reported, “Julie’s hands have a conversation with your body that unlocks years of old tension patterns.”
In March of 2013, a colleague introduced Julie to Kelly DelSignore, MSPT, and immediately Julie knew there was going to be a big change in her life. Soon after, Kelly asked her to come work along side her and explore a deeper meaning of Myofascial Release where the physical restrictions in the fascial system meet the emotional realm of stored trauma.
Julie has teaching experience at Pima Medical Institute and at the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
On a personal note, Julie is an avid road bicyclist, enjoys yoga and hiking. She has practiced Tai Chi. When she is not on her bicycle, she is caring for her vegetable, herb, and rose garden.
